GETIXCO staff is available to help you navigate accessing reasonable modifications. Staff will meet with you to determine what options are the best fit for you. Staff can speak to professors about absences, help you locate lactation spaces, help you receive an accessible desk, provide referrals to resources for health care and financial assistance, and determine what, if any, paperwork is required – among many other options. You also have the right to make the request yourself. GETIXCO can assist employees, as well, in conjunction with HR.
If you have questions about any of these policies, need assistance after requesting reasonable modifications from your supervisor or school, or would like to make a complaint of unfair treatment, please contact titleix@wustl.edu or 314-935-3393.
Title IX prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex—including pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, miscarriage, termination of pregnancy, or recovery therefrom—in educational programs and activities. This can include protections for partners of pregnant students and employees. Students may not be excluded from classes or activities because of pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions. The Gender Equity and Title IX Compliance Office (GETIXCO) will address all complaints of sex discrimination in violation of the university’s nondiscrimination statement and discrimination policies. In addition, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights offers resources and guidance here.
